THE Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has termed on security companies to update Nigerians on the motion taken against a pastor, Uche Aigbe, who brandished an AK-47 rifle on the altar in his church in Abuja.
According to the Govt Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola, the security companies need to communicate up on the issue to douse suspicion that the issue has been swept under the carpet.
Professor Akintola stated that Aigbe bringing the rifle to his church in February induced a stir not only within his church but throughout the country.
He reported whilst the cleric was later on arrested by the law enforcement and arraigned in court, Nigerians did not listen to just about anything about the issue afterwards.
Akintola recommended the police for steps taken to apprehend the pastor and demand him to court but expressed the perception that follow-up steps are also essential to assure the folks that the subject has not been neglected.
He reported the pastor’s motion elevated fears in sure quarters, specifically between Muslims, looking at that the incident happened close to the February 23 presidential election.
