U.S. stocks lower at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.46% By Investing.com

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NYSE, the fell 0.46%, while the index declined 1.06%, and the index fell 1.73%.

The best performers of the session on the were Boeing Co (NYSE:), which rose 6.28% or 9.25 points to trade at 156.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Caterpillar Inc (NYSE:) added 2.15% or 4.61 points to end at 219.15 and Honeywell International Inc (NASDAQ:) was up 1.96% or 3.92 points to 204.39 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Apple Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 4.24% or 6.15 points to trade at 138.88 at the close. Visa Inc Class A (NYSE:) declined 3.10% or 6.23 points to end at 194.72 and American Express Company (NYSE:) was down 2.94% or 4.22 points to 139.28.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Etsy Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 14.27% to 100.03, Under Armour Inc A (NYSE:) which was up 11.90% to settle at 7.95 and Under Armour Inc C (NYSE:) which gained 10.48% to close at 6.91.

The worst performers were Lincoln National Corporation (NYSE:) which was down 33.15% to 34.83 in late trade, Fidelity National Information Services Inc (NYSE:) which lost 28.05% to settle at 57.17 and Lumen Technologies Inc (NYSE:) which was down 18.01% to 5.78 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Huadi International Group Co Ltd (NASDAQ:) which rose 242.80% to 105.72, Acutus Medical Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 39.71% to settle at 0.98 and Nerdwallet Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 37.40% to close at 13.63.

The worst performers were Surgalign Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 34.43% to 2.00 in late trade, Neurobo Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 33.29% to settle at 4.67 and Biosig Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 32.26% to 0.32 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1810 to 1294 and 106 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2128 fell and 1634 advanced, while 164 ended unchanged.

Shares in Fidelity National Information Services Inc (NYSE:) fell to 5-year lows; down 28.05% or 22.30 to 57.17. Shares in Lumen Technologies Inc (NYSE:) fell to 5-year lows; down 18.01% or 1.27 to 5.78. Shares in Huadi International Group Co Ltd (NASDAQ:) rose to all time highs; up 242.80% or 74.88 to 105.72. Shares in Surgalign Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; down 34.43% or 1.05 to 2.00. Shares in Neurobo Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; down 33.29% or 2.33 to 4.67. Shares in Biosig Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; down 32.26% or 0.15 to 0.32.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.05% or 17.35 to $1,632.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.17% or 1.95 to hit $88.05 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.67% or 1.61 to trade at $94.55 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 0.98, while USD/JPY rose 0.27% to 148.29.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.45% at 112.84.
