AN ‘unidentified object’ was pulled out of the canal in Banbury this afternoon, creating the town centre to be shut to targeted visitors for hrs and extensive delays for motorists and public transport end users.
Thames Valley Police explained they have been named to the canal by Bridge St, Banbury at about 2pm immediately after an unidentified object was pulled from the water.
They mentioned officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal have been on the scene and set a cordon in put as a precaution.

A spokesperson from the pressure claimed: “The object is at this time becoming assessed and a 50m cordon has been set in spot as a precaution.
“As a end result, this is producing some disruption domestically so please stay clear of the area if you can.”
Gregory Pithers, an eye witness at the scene, instructed this newspaper he had heard a magnet fisherman pulled up ‘something lousy.’
The town centre, together with Bridge Road, Merton Avenue, Middleton Road and Cherwell Avenue, was closed to targeted visitors, triggering long delays for motorists and general public transport buyers.
Stagecoach had to redirect its products and services via Middleton Street resulting in disruption.
Teach expert services from Banbury station continued to operate as ordinary as travellers could even now accessibility the station through the Eastside carpark.
At close to 6:40pm, the street was reopened and the law enforcement cordon taken off.
Law enforcement verified that the object had been taken absent by officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit.
