The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has expressed dissatisfaction with the promises dished out by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his nationwide broadcast speech on Monday.

NLC claimed his “speech was not the silver black Nigerians expected.”

Contained in a statement signed by its President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, and designed out there to journalists in Abuja, the Congress said it is fully commited to its struggles considering that the President unsuccessful to tackle the present challenges that exacerbate struggling and hardship in the place.

The in total reads “Our evaluation of today’s broadcast by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu leaves us with the perception that the claims and assurances built by President Tinubu is not the silver bullet that Nigerians predicted. The speech in truth appears to be out of contact with reality and anomalous with the hardship and struggling that most Nigerians are heading as a result of now.

“First, the opening statement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu conveyed a determination to a improved and successful overall economy. We predicted that the following line of statement would be how the current governing administration designs to resuscitate our community refineries which have been lying comatose for so many years and is the important discomfort level in the complete subsidy narrative. Sad to say, the full speech by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was completely silent on the difficulty of the mend of our countrywide refineries.

“Second, constant with our perception of the misalignment of Mr. President’s claims and offerings to the truth faced by tens of millions of staff and common Nigerians was the faiture of President Tinubu to unmask all those behind the looting of Nigeria’s commonwealth less than the guise of petrol subsidy. It is unacceptable for the President and Commander-in-Chief to lament like ordinary Nigerians about a team that Mr. President routinely referred to in his speech as the “elites of the elites” who have stolen so significantly from Nigeria that they have come to be so impressive as to represent a menace to democratic governance. What Nigerians expected from Mr. President is a firm commitment to bring these financial saboteurs to justice and recover what they have stolen.

“Third, Mr. President’s statement on performing with Organised Labour to review the nationwide minimum amount wage is out of sync with what has played out considering that President Tinubu eradicated the so-referred to as petrol subsidy. In all the meetings scheduled by the governing administration, Organised Labour has been compelled to negotiate with empty chairs on the Federal Government’s side as the Federal Federal government has not matched its general public claims with organization dedication to negotiate in very good religion with labour. As a make any difference of truth, the sub-committee on wage award has not been inaugurated and has not achieved.

“Furthermore, Organised Labour is disturbed that whilst President Tinubu in his speech lavishly praised the Personal Sector for immediately dispensing wage award to their employees, the Federal Government has unsuccessful to do the exact same for general public personnel in its employment. This is a apparent situation of failing woefully to live up to the criteria it has established for other folks to meet. It is open understanding that the evaluate of the nationwide minimum amount wage is a make any difference of the regulation which is anticipated to happen in 2024. How would Nigerian workers cope with the latest fact of hyper inflation and struggling unleashed by the hasty removing of the so-named petrol subsidy till 2024 when the national minimal wage would be reviewed? This is amazing!

“Fourth, the promises of interventions by the Federal Authorities by way of palliatives, loans and conditional grants to bad Nigerians, significant manufacturing worries and modest organizations and provision of CNG buses keep on being what they are claims! Nigerians are utilized to these promises which have under no circumstances produced any verifiable and meaningful changes in the life of citizens.

“Fifth, for many Nigerians, it is incomprehensible that the principal actors in the present governing administration such as Mr. President himself were being apparent in 2012 on the want to tackle the fundamental problems that introduced about petrol subsidy. Individuals concerns incorporated the failure of preceding governments to mend our national refineries and carry these behind the monumental subsidy sleaze to ebook. Today, these concerns were swept under the carpet in President Tinubu’s speech. Nigerians ponder “what has changed?”

“Finally, we want to guarantee Nigerians that the Nigeria Labour Congress stays fully commited to matching discussions with govt with the present realities of sufferings that Nigerians are going through. Until eventually we see actual motivation by authorities to do the needful to strengthen the great deal of Nigerians and ameliorate the sufferings staff and standard Nigerians are going by, we continue being dedicated to proceed with our battle.”
